Biography:
John E. Tiedt was born in Anaheim, California and grew up in Placentia, California. He graduated from UCLA in 1983 and Pepperdine University School of Law in 1987.
John specializes in solving business problems for clients, and has been doing so since 1988. He began his career with a reputable mid-sized law firm in Brentwood, California. During that time, he was fortunate to represent a diverse clientele, including post production companies, production companies, doctors, medical groups, hospitals, leasing companies, construction companies, and manufacturers. Early in his career, John learned an important truth: a lawyer does not know how to truly draft a contract until a lawyer has litigated contracts in a courtroom to verdict. By understanding how contracts are reviewed and enforced by judges, he is able to write agreements that he knows will be enforced in a court of law.
With over a quarter century of trial and business transaction experience, John confidently leads his clients to success in transactional matters as well as litigation and arbitration. Having tried many cases, John takes pride in providing the type of counseling to his clients that prevents lawsuits from happening at the transaction stage. John initiated the firm’s unique risk assessment program for businesses in Southern California. The program involves a detailed evaluation of the risks of a particular business and then developing a program to eliminate or mitigate those risks. John has developed tools for businesses to address a wide variety of risks. John believes that it is imperative that lawyers should work hard to make businesses safer and compliant with the law.
John’s cases have been reported in professional publications and in national media. He has also been admitted to practice pro hac vice in 15 states to handle a variety of notable cases while winning millions of dollars in verdicts for his clients. His current practice includes clients in the following counties: Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties. He is assisted by his partner Marc Hurd, the firm’s associates and conscientious staff. His business clients have included: Cesar Milan; Deluxe Digital Media; Manhattan Beach Studios; Montage, LLC; Titan Investments; MCW Fuels, Inc.; Wells Fargo; EDS; Storage Tek; ElectroFilm; Program Beta; Bear Valley Health Care District; LA Digital, Inc.; and many other companies.
John is blessed with a kind and loving wife, six great children and two (soon to be three) wonderful grandchildren. He proudly resides in Corona where he attends Saddleback Church and Corona Friends Church (two wonderful Churches). John has been, and still is, active in the sporting and academic activities of his children.
