Biography:

After 19 years working in larger firms, Marc joined up with his long-time friend and colleague, John Tiedt, to form Tiedt & Hurd in February 2007.  The practice focuses on business transactions and litigation, employment law matters and corporate collections.

Mr. Hurd graduated cum laude in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA.  He then graduated from Hasting College of the Law in June of 1987 and was admitted to practice law in California in December of that year.  At Hastings, he was president of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity and an active member of the Associated Students.

A veteran of numerous trials, Mr. Hurd has developed the keen trial skills necessary to successfully advocate for his clients, and understands that litigation today requires preparation, hard work and a willingness to “go the distance.”  Yet, with that experience comes the respect for the judicial system that recognizes that many cases can, and should, be resolved by utilizing alternative means.  With that in mind, Mr. Hurd has also resolved hundreds of cases through arbitration, mediation and negotiation of settlements.

Mr. Hurd also recognizes that often the “best defense” in litigation is not to get sued in the first place.  So, Mr. Hurd offers  “preventative legal medicine,” to assist clients in facing  issues before they become actual problems.  By applying the “ounce of prevention” approach, business may avoid or minimize the costs of the “cure” down the road.

Married with two children, Marc has been active in his community, working with the YMCA Indian Guide Program, and coaching Little League Baseball and youth soccer.  He is also Rotarian, and he and the firm are members of  the Corona Chamber of Commerce.
